Why this exists
My dad had ALS. If you know, you know. It's a disease that takes everything — slowly, cruelly, without mercy. It steals
movement
voice
independence
But it never touched his heart.
He was a hard worker his whole life — the kind of man who showed up, provided, and never complained. And when he could, he loved to travel. After his diagnosis, we took one of our last trips together as a family to Hershey. We made memories. We held on tight. We didn't say it out loud but we all knew.
His dream was Hawaii. He never got there.
He was my hero. And when I wrote my children's book My Hero with Tired Muscles, I wrote it for him.
After he passed, I became a travel agent because I believe in something deeply — families need to make memories while they can. Time is not promised. Adventures matter. And nobody fighting ALS should miss their dream trip because of medical bills, mobility challenges, or just the weight of it all.
My dad never made it to Hawaii. But maybe someone else's hero will.
So I started this fund.
How it works
Every time you book a cruise through me, a portion of my commission goes into The My Hero with Tired Muscles Dream Trip Fund. When the fund reaches its goal, we send an ALS warrior on their dream trip of choice.

As this is a growing initiative, funds will build over time ( travel commissions are received after trips are completed). My goal is to reach $10,000 - a level that allows us to create a meaningful travel experience so that our heroes can take their dream trip.
Because ALS can progress quickly and circumstances can change, nominations will open as we get closer to this goal to ensure we're able to support a family when it matters most.
And if their dream requires more, we'll keep going - because moments like these shouldn't have limits.
As funds start to grow, a public progress tracker will be shared so you can follow along and see the impact being made every step of the way.
